Visitors who understand the importance of the maritime community cannot understand how Hawaii’s citizens have not been in the forefront of supporting the preservation of their National Historic Landmark. Now is an opportunity to step forward with that support.
Besides Cinco de Mayo, this is the auspicious occasion for the kickoff of the Friends of Falls of Clyde Indiegogo fundraising campaign. Falls of Clyde, a world-renowned member of the tall ships family, needs to be preserved and restored to her splendor for the benefit of the local Hawaii community, where she served in the maritime industry many decades before she came to rest in Honolulu as a museum and community activity venue. Visitors from around the world know of her history and position as the only remaining iron-hulled, four-masted sailing tanker in the world. Many comments are made about her beautiful shape even in her current condition.
