Happy New Year to everyone. We hoped to start off the new year knowing about our grant application to the National Park Service as the primary seed money for our drydock. Unfortunately, the decision will not be made until sometime in January and we have heard nothing to date.
We have been required by Bishop Museum to remove the ship's property stored in the Hawaii Maritime Center by the end of January. We have set Saturday, January 24, as the primary move day with a back-up on January 31, if we cannot complete in one day. We are looking for volunteers who are available to help with the move. We plan to meet at the HMC at 9 a.m. on the 24th. If you are available you can just show up.
In the meantime, we are doing some organization in the ship's tween deck. We have new shelving installed in our toolroom thanks to a donation from the Punahou School library.
