The big event this month was submission of our Maritime Heritage Grant to the National Park Service. We thank Governor Abercrombie, Representative Gabbard, and Kiersten Faulkner of the Historic Hawai`i Foundation for their letters of support. We should know about the grant award by December. We are still waiting to hear about other pending grant applications and continue to look for other appropriate corporate and foundation grant sources. What we need is one major donation that will show there is commitment in our community for this important preservation project and will then get other donors to contribute. For those who have read the book Catch 22, you understand our predicament in getting large donations.

We are also working with a professional fundraising consultant to generate individual donations. Our hope is to create an advisory team to guide us through that process.

This month also involved beginning work to seal the poop deck and eventually do repairs on the chart house.

Many thanks to those who took advantage of the annual Foodland "Give Aloha"  campaign and made a contribution to Friends of Falls of Clyde. We should know what we will receive shortly.

We know that there is great interest in the future of the Falls of Clyde. There is a lot going on that the Board of Directors is dealing with, so we felt that keeping stakeholders involved through a report on our website is the easiest way to reach our worldwide audience.
