Friends of Falls of Clyde believe we are part of the community so we have joined the Adopt-A-Harbor program and will take part in preserving the cleanliness of our harbor.

The weather has not helped us continue work on the poop deck and charthouse. Hopefully drier weather will get us back on track.

We have now received the letter from the Harbors Division asking to do a follow up to our April meeting. We are prepared to provide our business plan and details about the drydock that is needed. However, we need to overcome a misunderstanding. For some reason the Deputy Director believes that we said we were certain that we would be able to get our targeted $1.5 million goal to pay for the drydock by August 2015. There is no truth in this since we had not even started our Indiegogo fundraising and were only in the early stages of preparing the National Maritime Heritage Grant application. Neither of these would be a certainty. We intend to clear this up at the meeting. This misunderstanding has led to the threat to terminate our Revocable Permit for Pier 7, which, of course, would be disastrous. This is now the time that all supporters for the preservation of our National Historic Landmark must step up with tax-deductible donations.

We know that there is great interest in the future of the Falls of Clyde. There is a lot going on that the Board of Directors is dealing with, so we felt that keeping stakeholders involved through a report on our website is the easiest way to reach our worldwide audience.
